Terje Baugerød (organ--Norway)

Terje Baugerød is working as organist in Ris Church in Oslo, Norway, in addition to a freelance career as a performer, producer and composer / arranger.

He is educated from the Norwegian Academy of Music where he studied organ with Bjørn Boysen and piano with Kaare Ørnung. He graduated on both instruments in 1991. After this, he studied organ with Hans Fagius in Copenhagen. He has a diverse musical background.

In addition to his career as an organist and performer of classical music, Baugerød is  especially working with pop, electronica and traditional music from different cultures. He has several times been in Mali, West-Africa to study and work. He is particularly keen to build bridges and break down artificial musical genre barriers. Improvisation and musical curiosity is among his main characteristics.

In 2013 he established the record & production company TerjeB Production – www.terjeb.no. This company releases both his own and others musical productions.

He has received support from the Norwegian composer scholarship and received prize at a composing competition in the Czech Republic.

As organist of Ris Church since the millennium, he has been the main force behind the church´s new organ, Norways first church-organ in the style of the legendary organ-builder Cavaille-Coll.
