Do you know how to distinguish Baroque and Romantic music? Do you know that each of the two periods presupposes absolutely different rules of perception? In Baroque music, in spite of all its dramatic conflicts, the composer had to keep one state of mind from the beginning to the end. In Romantic music, on the contrary, versatility was welcome, even in a small lyric piece. The famous organist and art historian Alexander Maykapar plays the organ and tells us the secrets of music translating from the language of musical sounds to our common human language.
