Dear friends, by purchasing tickets, you agree to сomply with our rules for concertgoers.

Organist Stefan Engels has been living in the USA for a long time, but his musical career started in Germany, Bach’s motherland. Bach remains his number 1 composer, and in Russia Stefan Engels is presenting a program made exclusively of the works of the great German genius. We are going to listen to both big compositions and chorale preludes which in spite of their small size are considered the quintessence of Bach’s music.

Stefan Engels has recorded works of Dupré, Germani, Messiaen, Karg-Elert and Reger for the Naxos, Genuin and Priory labels. His specialization in the organ works of Sigfrid Karg-Elert has resulted in the world premiere recording of the complete organ works of Karg-Elert (15 CDs) on the Priory label. This series came to a completion in 2017 and has been reviewed to high international acclaim.  Mr. Engels received his musical education in Germany and the United States. He studied organ, piano, harpsichord, choral conducting and church music at the Universities in Aachen, Düsseldorf and Cologne. From 1993 until 1998 he pursued further organ studies with Wolfgang Rübsam in Chicago and the late Robert Anderson in Dallas, having received an Artist Diploma degree from Southern Methodist University in 1995.
