Cathedral's Eve

Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is one of the most popular classical pieces of music. The reason is not only the beauty of the music, but also the theme, indeed we all, regardless of age, occupation and worldview, feel and observe the change of seasons. And for us it is not just “warm or cold”, it is an alternation of certain rites. It is also an unfading metaphor of the human life with its different phases. Thus Vivaldi’s masterpiece is not only a treasure of amazing tunes but also a book of deep meanings.

Tonight we are going to listen to a version for orchestra, organ and violin solo (played by renowned virtuoso violinist Pyotr Lundstrem).
