Organ and piano: their keys look very much alike, however the two musical instruments may be said to belong to different worlds. Strict Gothic accords of the organ seem to have nothing in common with the romantic atmosphere of piano passages… But is not our life a continuous blending of tastes and colours? For that reason, ever since the piano was created, composers have been organizing refined and beautiful “meetings” of the two musical “kings”.
The programme of the the concert has a very interesting structure. At first the piano and the organ present themselves separately, but step by step they start to communicate, passing to original duets. The programme includes pieces by J.S. Bach, C. Franck, C. Saint-Saëns, G. Fauré and the chamber music of the 20th century.
