Dear friends, by purchasing tickets, you agree to сomply with our rules for concertgoers.
Numerous composers have turned to the marvelous poetic prayer Stabat Mater which speaks about Our Lady who is standing under the cross and sees her Son’s passion. We don’t know the name of the medieval author of the poem, but the power of his poetic feeling was so great and elevated that the Catholic Church included the prayer Stabat Mater into its liturgy, and composers continue to set it to music.
The concert features two famous compositions inspired by this text: Stabat Mater by A. Vivaldi and G. B. Pergolesi.
J. S. Bach
Toccata and fugue in D minor, BWV 565
Stabat Mater, RV 621
G. B. Pergolesi
