Baroque means fancy, a bit strange. No wonder in our age of fantasy novels the Baroque music is so popular. It would seem that of all the countries famous for their Baroque heritage, Germany with its mentality is the worst match of the Baroque aesthetics. Indeed the Germans are known as lovers of order, a logical and practical nation. However it was in Germany that Bach and Handel were born, the greatest composers of the Baroque era. Paradoxically enough, unity of opposites sometimes brings amazing results! The outstanding Russian organist Alexey Parshin will help us to compare the fantasy capacities of German, Italian and French composers.
