Joaquin Rodrigo’s works are a treasure of Spanish music, a legend of the classical guitar. His Concierto de Aranjuez belogns to the repertoire of guitarists throughout the world. None other than the king of Spain gave him the title of Marquis of the Gardens of Aranjuez. Perhaps it was due to the fact that Rodrigo’s music is not based on fashionable European tendencies, but on the traditions of Spanish classical art.
The concert is dedicated to the great Maestro, but it is not only his music that awaits us. We will plunge into the bright emotional world of Spanish music of various centuries. Our guides to the music of Spain are a Russian-Japanese duo: Dmitry Borodaev (guitar) and Hiroko Inoue (organ). They will also play Vivaldi’s music and Dmitry Borodaev’s splendid Arabesques.
